"GET INSPIRED" - Solar Saturday
As part of its year-long “Get Inspired!” series, the Wildling Art Museum, in Los Olivos, is offering “Solar Saturday,” July 16, from 11:00 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Visit the Wildling and learn about different ways to harness the power of the sun. Brian Chandler, known as Solar B, will be on hand to demonstrate solar carving and sell his amazing jewelry and works of art. There will be solar cooking demonstrations by Bonny Ahern and Craig Bansmer – and if you are inspired, you can
purchase your own solar cooker! Santa Ynez Valley Solar will be there to discuss capturing the energy of the sun to power your home, and the Wildling will be offering a free solar printing station to try your hand creating artwork with this unique paper.
During your visit, don’t miss the current exhibitions, “Scenic View Ahead: Cover Art from the Auto Club’s Westways Collection,” and “Then & Now: Photography of Tom Millea.” The Wildling Art Museum connects people to the wonders of America’s wilderness through art. It is located at 2928 San Marcos Avenue in Los Olivos (next to Corner House Coffee).
